Jacob Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Program offered at WESTARM Outpatient FacilitiesThursday, October 4, 2018, WESTARM Physical Therapy & Homecare has developed a Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Program. This program will be offered at three WESTARM Outpatient Physical Therapy facilities in Leechburg, Lower Burrell, and Plum. Tara Porter, licensed physical therapist, is certified with “PWR Moves” and “Big Walk” and will develop a comprehensive program to address multiple symptoms and personalized goals. PWR Moves and Big Walk are Parkinson-specific exercises to teach patients how to move bigger and faster in everyday life, counteracting Parkinson symptoms. In addition to this, WESTARM has purchased the GlideTrak treadmill for their Leechburg facility. This provides patients with confidence to exercise at higher intensities without the fear of falling. Ms. Porter will see patients with Parkinson’s at the facility best suited for the client. If you would like to learn more about this program, please contact her at parkinsons@westarmtherapy.com or call 724-845-2048. WESTARM Physical Therapy is a Medicare Certified Rehabilitation agency that has been in business for over 35 years. They offer Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy at nine (9) facilities primarily in the Allegheny-Kiski Valley of Pittsburgh. WESTARM also contracts with local school districts to provide therapy for special-needs students and athletic training services for injured athletes. WESTARM Homecare Nursing & Therapy provides skilled nursing and licensed therapies in patients’ homes within the same vicinity. |
