WESTARM Physical Therapy provides AQUATIC THERAPY at the Allegheny Valley YMCA in Natrona Heights
Wednesday, June 19, 2019 - WESTARM Physical Therapy & Homecare of Lower Burrell will begin to offer Aquatic Therapy at the Allegheny Valley YMCA in Natrona Heights. This program will start on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. WESTARM will have access to this pool every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm.
AQUATIC THERAPY is the practice of physical therapy within the environment of a pool. The buoyancy, support, and accommodating resistance of water enhances exercise and creates a safe environment for progressive rehabilitation. This type of therapy is ideal for the treatment of patients recovering from major extremity operations of the hip, shoulder, knee and lower back; back injuries; Rheumatoid Arthritis; Multiple Sclerosis; Chronic Pain; and Fibromyalgia.
WESTARM currently also offers aquatic therapy in their facilities located in Vandergrift and Kittanning. “An experienced licensed clinician will be in the pool at all times to provide hands-on treatment that will be part of the patient’s rehabilitation plan,” said Tom Porter, PT, Director of Therapy Services, who has 19 years of clinical experience and has developed and supervised other Aquatic Therapy programs.
