Hip & Knee Replacement Lecture for Nat’l Physical Therapy Month at WESTARM
Tuesday, August 13, 2019 – WESTARM Physical Therapy & Homecare of Lower Burrell, PA – October is recognized as National Physical Therapy Month. This is an annual commemoration held by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) designed to recognize the impact that physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) make in restoring and improving activity in people’s lives.
In celebration of that month, WESTARM will be providing a free community lecture “Are You Considering a Hip or Knee Replacement?” We will review pre- and post-surgery options with our recognized guest speaker, Eric Evans, M.D., Orthopaedic Surgeon from Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Associates (GPOA). WESTARM licensed physical therapists Tom Porter, MPT and Lucas Ladouceur, MSPT, will discuss rehabilitation after a total joint replacement surgery and will be available for questions afterwards.
This free event will take place on Tuesday, October 1st and is open to the general public. It will start at 6:00 pm at WESTARM’s Leechburg facility at 1001 S. Leechburg Hill Road in Allegheny Township, PA 15656. Light refreshments will be provided along with free parking. Call 724-337-6522 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
The APTA represents more than 95,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students of physical therapy nationwide. Today’s graduating physical therapists hold either a master’s or clinical doctorate degree. They create plans of care reflecting scientifically-based treatment techniques that restore function, reduce pain, and help prevent disability. More importantly with today’s opioid epidemic, Physical Therapy is a safe & effective alternative route to manage and eliminate pain.
WESTARM Physical Therapy is a Medicare Certified Rehabilitation agency that has been in business for over 34 years. We offer Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy at nine (9) facilities primarily in the Allegheny Valley of Pittsburgh.
