VALLEY POINTS FAMILY YMCA TO STAGE
ANNUAL RACE-A-PALOOZA RUN/WALK

WESTARM Therapy & Homecare to serve as Title Sponsor

The Valley Points Family YMCA will once again host their annual Run/Walk event “Race-A-Palooza” on Saturday, May 22, 2010. This will be the 3rd Annual Race-A-Palooza, which has become one of the more popular run/walk events in the region. Held at Wolf Pack Park in Lower Burrell, PA, Race-a-Palooza is actually comprised of three different events – a Half-Marathon (13.1 miles), a 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles), and a Kids Fun Run (100 meters).

"Our organization is proud to be a part of Race-A-Palooza in 2010,” said Brian Jacob, President of WESTARM Therapy & Homecare. “We believe this is a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together for a fun outing that is consistent with the goal of our company, which is to support healthy activities that allow people of all ages to function at the highest levels of physical conditioning."

Taking place on the scenic, slightly rolling hills of Wolf Pack Park, Race-A-Palooza is a great event for the whole family, with race categories ranging from 14 years of age and under to those age 60 and older. The Half-Marathon begins at 7:45am, the 5K Run/Walk at 8:30am, and the Kids Fun Race immediately prior to the awards ceremony. Advance registration is $20 for the Half-Marathon and $12 for the 5K Run/Walk, which includes a complimentary Race-A-Palooza tee-shirt and post–event healthy snacks. Interested participants can register by visiting the Valley Points Family YMCA website at www.vpfymca.org and downloading a registration form, or by calling (724) 335-9191 x108. Local companies are also invited to contact the Valley Points Family YMCA to inquire about sponsorship opportunities that will support the event and create more awareness for their organizations.

"We think Race-A-Palooza is an entertaining and healthy way to kick off the summer," says Vickie Kolakowski, Vice President and Executive Director of the Valley Points Family YMCA. "We are excited to be able to offer Race-A-Palooza to our community and look forward to having lots of kids and families join us for this fun day."
